The history of Belvís de la Navas olive oil is the story of a family connected to nature, and to the care and respect for the olive-growing tradition of the Sierra de las Nieves
The history of Belvís de las Navas began with the Hohenlohe family in Marbella in the 1940s. The ties between the family and this land are strong and deep, like the roots of the centuries-old wild olive trees that grow on the estate, which was acquired by Xandra Gamazo Hohenlohe.
The rebirth of
an olive grove
Sandro Gamazo, the driving force behind Belvís de las Navas olive oil, explains it this way: “Fires in a neighboring village forced us to clear the area around our house to create a safety margin. As we cleared those 200 meters, we discovered terraces of rough stone and olive trees that had been forgotten. There were gaps between them, but they followed a pattern of terraced olive groves.”
After decades of neglect, under the weeds, it was decided to recover the olive grove and make way for agricultural exploitation to create the highest quality organic extra virgin olive oil possible. “This project would not have been possible without the collaboration and participation of the farmers of Istán. They are the ones who hold the ancestral knowledge necessary to carry this project forward.”

Where tradition meets nature
Belvís de las Navas is an organic extra virgin olive oil produced in the Sierra de las Nieves mountains, in Istán (Málaga), 10 kilometers from Marbella. It comes from a unique estate where a wild olive grove has been restored, although it is not known for certain who planted it or when.
